Ziopharm Oncology presents preclinical data for Darinaparsin at AACR-NCI-EORTC meeting
Ziopharm Oncology announced that results from preclinical studies of darinaparsin (Zinapar or ZIO-101), a novel organic arsenic, in prostate cancer were presented at the AACR-NCI-EORTC International Conference on Molecular Targets and Cancer Therapeutics. In addition to company authors, the studies included authors Joseph R Bertino MD and Nitu Bansal PhD from UMDNJ-The Cancer Institute of New Jersey.

Plexxikon novel agents aim to address cancer treatment in new ways
Plexxikon announced scientific findings from two key programs in its oncology pipeline. First, findings from preclinical studies showed that treatment with a novel oral agent, PLX3397, re-programmed the tumor microenvironment, supporting further development of this single agent treatment for certain cancers and malignancies such as prostate cancer. In another presentation, Plexxikon researchers characterized the discovery of next generation BRAF inhibitors based on a preclinical model showing that these new inhibitors avoided the drug-induced skin lesions (cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma) observed with other BRAF inhibitors.

Telormedix announces promising TMX-202 preclinical results for skin cancer treatment
Telormedix announced that it has achieved significant preclinical results for TMX-202, a compound developed for the safe and effective topical treatment of skin cancer. The recent preclinical study evaluated TMX-202 as a topical skin cancer treatment in a mouse skin cancer model and showed that it had both better efficacy and better tolerability than the current gold standard treatment for skin cancer, Imiquimod/Aldara.
