SCDM Announces Election Results for Board of Trustees

The Society for Clinical Data Management (SCDM) has announced the results of elections for its Board of Trustees members and officers.

Nimita Limaye, CCDM, was elected as vice chair for 2010. Limaye, vice president of CDM and medical writing at SIRO Clinpharm in Mumbai, India, is the first non-North American to serve as an officer on the SCDM Board of Trustees. Under SCDM’s leadership progression, Limaye will assume the Chair in 2011.

2010 Board Chair Ralph J. Russo, CCDM, assistant director, global clinical data management at Schering Plough Research Institute, said SCDM will continue on a path of globalization under his leadership.

“The SCDM board will focus on expanding our collaborative relationships with other industry organizations and deepening our relationships with global regulatory authorities,” he said. “We look forward to expanding our member base in new regions of the world as we become more and more a global organization serving the needs of data managers in sponsor and Contract Research Organization (CRO) organizations across continents.”

Approximately 17 percent of SCDM members are from outside the US, representing more than 40 countries.

Three Trustees joining the Board bring a broad background of experience. Their terms begin January 1 and will last three years.
