RFCL signs agreement with Diagon

RFCL has signed a technology transfer agreement with Diagon to accept the formulation and technology inputs for manufacturing of haematology reagents for the leading 3 part and 5 part differential instruments at a manufacturing facility of Diagnova, RFCL in Dehradun.
Diagnova, RFCL will manufacture and sell these reagents in India to customers with 3 part and 5 part differential instruments like Diagnova’s own installations of Lablife Noble III, H3D, D5 Supreme as well as competitors like Mindray, Sysmex, Coulter and others.
The business of haematology reagents is estimated to be worth Rs 1613 million (US$34.6 million) and 30 percent of this market is held by small, mushrooming outfits that sell on price but are not able to provide any after sales or trouble shooting support on quality of goods to the customer.
“With the new technology transfer and manufacturing plant, Diagnova is targeting an eight percent increase in its current market share of haematology reagents over a four year period with a CAGR of 38 percent against the market CAGR of 25 percent. We intend to capture this market by offering customers the advantages of a trusted technology from Europe, high quality manufacturing and customised packs at cGMP and ISO 9001:2008 certified plant at an excise exempted location offering a competitive price backed with complete service, application and quality support,†says Veena Kohli, executive vice president, Diagnova, RFCL.
The Diagnova manufacturing plant is located in central excise and income tax exempted SIDCUL area of Pharma City, Selaqui Industrial Area, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The plant is dedicated for manufacturing in vitro diagnostics (IVD) products and comprises separate facilities for manufacturing of diagnostic kits/reagents which includes biochemistry, immunology, serology, rapid card tests and haematology (manufacturing reactors: 2,000L x 2 & 1,000L x 2).
