Nowgen Practical Biobanking Course

Nowgen Practical Biobanking: An Intensive Course, will be held from February 16-19, 2009 in Manchester, UK.
The course is designed for both biobank sponsors and researchers looking to establish and maintain a biological sample resource. The emphasis of the course will be on the practical aspects of establishing and running a liquid and tissue biobank and includes:
• Optional practical laboratory day on DNA extraction and quantification techniques
• Talks from leading liquid and tissue biobanking scientists
• Discussion and networking forums
• Tour of major biobanking facilities in the North West of England, including UK Biobank (UKBB) and AstraZeneca
• Robotic automation workshop at RTS Life Sciences
The workshop at RTS on February 18 will feature the RTS Automated Blood Fractionation platform (ABF) and the A2 and A3-SmaRTStore automated sample storage systems.
