New Cevec Pharmaceuticals CEO

Cevec Pharmaceuticals, a biopharmaceutical company specializing in the development of complex therapeutic proteins using their proprietary human cell expression systems, has appointed Rainer Lichtenberger Ph.D., MBA as the new CEO.
Lichtenberger will replace Prof. Stefan Kochanek, one of the founders of the company, who led the company as interim CEO for nearly half a year and will continue to serve as one of the advisory board members.
Lichtenberger is a life science manager with 20 years of management experience in renowned companies such as the Merckle/ratiopharm group and Merck KGaA.
There he held various positions of increasing responsibility, among them vice-president of strategic marketing and corporate vice-president of business development.
Most recently, he led a private venture-financed German biopharmaceutical development company, where he managed a major series A venture round.
