Innovative Packaging Receives Award from World Packaging Organization

Bosch Sigpack Systems, a Bosch packaging technology company, received the prestigious Packaging Award WorldStar 2007 from the World Packaging Organization for its packaging concept Burgopak. A total of 30 products from companies worldwide have been awarded in the yearly competition for innovation, design and functionality.
The new packaging style Burgopak with patented sliding mechanism was selected as having one of the best pharmaceutical packaging formats. Besides pharmaceutical products such as blister packs, the Burgopak is suitable for packaging chewing gums, hard candy or consumer goods in various format sizes, as well as CDs, DVDs and SIM cards.
Says Burgo Watson, the concept’s inventor and fellow partner in the London-based design agency with the same name: "Until now we produced more than 15 million packages manually. We are looking forward to the introduction in the UK market of the first continuous Burgopak packaging machine in the first term of 2008."
The Bosch Sigpack Systems has also been nominated in the "Best-of-the-Best President’s Award" competition category. The winners will be announced on May 21, 2008 in Accra, Ghana.
