Innogene wins Emerging Company of the Year in Oncology award

Singapore-based drug development company Innogene Kalbiotech was named the Emerging Company of the Year in Oncology at the Frost & Sullivan 3rd Annual Asia Pacific Best Practices Awards Ceremony held last week.

The award is conferred to Innogene as an up-and-coming emerging company with a vision that has enabled it to grow despite the significant obstacles facing the company. It recognises the company’s identification of a unique or bold product or service solution with significant market potential and successfully meeting the challenges associated with bringing it to market.

Dr Rikrik Ilyas, director, Innogene Kalbiotech, commenting on their award, said: “Drug development is a risky, highly regulated, long-term investment and knowledge-intensive business, so many people are always initially skeptical about embarking on it. We are therefore absolutely delighted with the win.

“This award is testament to Innogene’s strong drug development and commercialisation leadership in providing added value to our customers. Moving forward, we are committed to developing more innovative and effective healthcare solutions to fulfill unmet patient needs and improve the quality of life of our patients.”

Nominees for the Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Best Practices Awards were identified through market participant interviews as well as primary and secondary research. A team of senior analysts from research and consulting firm Frost & Sullivan then evaluated the nominees based on the three key criteria of growth strategy and implementation, degree of innovation into business processes and leadership in customer value and market penetration.

The Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Best Practices Awards is now in its seventh year. Manoj Menon, partner and Asia Pacific managing director, Frost & Sullivan, said: “The awards aim to recognise companies that have placed a focus on business fundamentals, flexibility in business models, continuous innovation and on talent management. Additionally, the award distinguishes companies’ overall success in their business strategy, implementation and market penetration within their operating space.”
