Frost & Sullivan Recognizes Werum’s Capability In MES Market

Werum Software & Systems is the recipient of the 2007 Frost & Sullivan Company of the Year Award in the Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) category for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

The company’s continuous investment in customer satisfaction and constant innovation to leverage its current offerings reinforces its status as a trusted partner to the pharmaceutical industry.

Customers laud Werum’s superior capability in providing solutions that drive productivity by seamlessly integrating across all levels of automation throughout the entire pharmaceutical production process.

While there has been widespread consolidation in the MES area, the company has differentiated itself by being one of the very few employee owned vendors to have consistently shown tremendous growth over the years.

While the overall pharmaceutical MES market grew at less than 15 percent globally, Werum’s growth rates were significantly higher at more than 25 percent globally.

The company follows a unique approach whereby the customer site is installed with a standard solution so that the customer can assess the benefits in real-time. Based on individual customer feedback and requirements, Werum adds modules in accordance with their needs.

PAS-X, the company’s flagship product, has a modular architecture that enables customers to choose components based on their immediate requirements and mix and match those components to satisfy their specific needs.

Its scalability allows for modules to be added at anytime, in any number of sites, during or after the duration of a particular deployment, subject to customers’ requirements.

Werum’s architecture also leverages ISA S95 standards that enable easy integration with the various existing enterprise solutions.

“The inherent flexibility of PAS-X is clearly visible not only during deployments in different companies but within diverse user groups of individual companies as well. The unique work center concept provides tailored user functionality depending on the specific user group within the company, and in most cases customers can order a complete rollout using their own resources and also maintain those systems without any external help,” said Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Sanjeev R Sridharan.

“Werum also has long-standing relationships with large pharmaceutical machine builders, which enables easy and smooth integration with the shop floor. Its strong functional relationships with select strategic channel partners and system integrators in various regions have also helped Werum to gain a foothold in Asian markets,” said Sridharan.

Each year Frost & Sullivan presents this Award to the company that has demonstrated excellence in business development, competitive strategy, and leadership.

This company is perceived to exhibit outstanding management, consistent growth, and positive social and economic impact on local and national communities and customers. The Award recipient has also demonstrated superior market growth skills through significant gains in the market.
