Millipore Corporation has introduced Millitrack, a web graphical user interface software tool for the company's water purification system users. The software enables the long-term electronic archiving of water quality records, as well as remote access to a water purification system for real-time remote monitoring.

The software allows users to save monitoring data from their water purification system on a long-term basis, including resistivity/conductivity measurements, and system parameters. Records that are archived and indexed using the software can also be exported to a database file that has a data management tool.

The software also allows for remote access. In today's labs, research and administrative areas are often located in different parts of a facility. Once the software is installed, a lab manager is able to leave the "wet lab" space where the water purification system is located and then continue monitoring water quality data from an office computer - while simultaneously keeping an eye on other projects.
