The International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE), will be hosting a live, one-hour Webinar titled, "Use of IVR to Support Elimination of Use-by Dates from Clinical Trial Labels," on February 26, 2009.

Michael Arnold, business process head for Pfizer, and Christine Milligan, director of client services for Fisher Clinical Services, will discuss the possibility of eliminating use-by dates on Investigational Medicinal Product (IMP) labels to reduce costs and minimize patient risk by using Interactive Voice Response (IVR) technology, while still remaining in compliance with European Union directives.

The presentation will review the activities and conclusions of the Label Task Team, feedback from competent authorities to date, identification of related reference documents, and the next steps toward broader application.

The session will review parts of the draft whitepaper and updates to the risk analysis report, comparing the use of IVR versus conventional packaging for managing use-by dates.
