Chinese company selects process analyzer for greater productivity

Thermo Fisher Scientific says China's Chiatai Qingchunbao Pharmaceutical has chosen the Antaris MX FT-NIR process analyzer to perform online sample analysis in its traditional Chinese medicine manufacturing facilities.

It now takes the Hangzhou-based company less than 30 seconds to analyze samples compared with traditional time-consuming methods which could take several hours to complete.

As part of the manufacturing process, Chiatai Qingchunbao carries out sample analysis in its distilling plant where, until recently, samples had to be removed and tested individually, which is considered as inefficient.

Using NIR in the process, samples from larger batches can be inspected, which ensures more constant product quality as the company can now control the production process with standard criteria.
