Come May 15, Nanjing International Exhibition Center will be the exhibition venue for the three-day API and Interphex China. Organized by Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions, this show will feature solutions for the pharmaceutical industry from providers of processing machinery, packaging machineryand materials, contract services, and outsourcing.

API China, a one-stop marketplace for global pharmaceuticals, is rapidly becoming one of the major international events in Asia for pharmaceutical manufacturers to source and acquire cost-effective, quality ingredients, as well as processing and packaging equipment and materials.

Meanwhile, exhibitors at Interphex China trade in processing and packaging equipment, and materials and services. The two events combine to provide an even greater value for pharmaceutical manufacturers.

In its 57th show last year, a total of 1,189 domestic and international exhibitors displayed their goods and services in an indoor exhibition covering 38,000 sqm. There were 33,656 attendees, 702 of whom came from 64 different countries.

With many drug patents due to expire in the near future, generic production has dramatically increased in China, shrinking the production gap between domestic manufacturers and India.

Chinese manufacturers, recognizing that global demand for cost-effective production makes outsourcing an attractive proposition, are stepping up the provision of value-added services. Quality packaging and processing have also become of increasing importance as more pharmaceutical manufacturing moves to China. PA
